The first video is about improving the balance which is the most challenging aspect of my recovery. I was in a wheelchair for the first couple of months after the stroke. It has improved a lot in the last few months but I still feel wobbly when I go out. At home I am fine and I don’t feel like I am about to fall. I think it is more mental than physical.

Leg Extentions
Leg extensions are an important exercise in stroke recovery because they help strengthen the muscles of the legs, improve range of motion, and enhance functional mobility. For stroke survivors, leg extensions can be performed in various positions, depending on their level of mobility, to improve lower limb strength and coordination. These exercises are particularly beneficial for regaining the ability to stand, walk, and perform daily activities like climbing stairs or standing up from a chair. Purpose: Strengthen the quadriceps (front thigh muscles) and improve knee extension range of motion. How to do it: Position: Sit in a sturdy chair with your back straight and feet flat on the floor. Keep your knees bent at a 90-degree angle. Movement: Slowly extend one leg straight out in front of you, keeping your knee as straight as possible. Hold the extended position for 2-3 seconds. Return: Slowly lower your leg back to the starting position. Repetitions: Repeat 10-15 times per leg, then switch legs. Tips: Engage your core muscles for stability and support during the movement. Start with a smaller range of motion if full extension is difficult, and gradually increase the range as strength improves.
